How to manage coefficients in thousandths tables

Coefficients are the factors that correct a unit's surface or base value before it becomes thousandths (millesimi), to account for floor level, exposure, intended use or distance from the system. They make the table fair: two apartments of equal floor area but with different features do not carry the same weight. In the software, coefficients are set at the unit and table level, so the calculation stays traceable and repeatable. What coefficients are and what they do

A coefficient is a multiplier applied to a unit's base quantity, typically the surface, to reflect conditions that raise or lower its value or usefulness. Floor, orientation, brightness and intended-use coefficients are the ones traditionally used when forming the general thousandths tables.

In some special tables the coefficients weight use rather than value. In the staircase table, for example, allocation accounts for floor height under Article 1124 of the Italian Civil Code, while for heating there are factors tied to heat loss.
